Bunny Run Relays - 29.04.2008
The Bunny Run relays attracted 82 teams and are always a lot of fun with lots of shouting and cheering. Junior results below.

Bunny Run Four - 22.04.2008
The last of the Bunny Run series at Penistone Hill, Haworth. Ashley Kay was just pipped at the finish by a K&C runner but still managed to finish inside the old course record in 16.55 and 7th overall out of 211 runners (2nd U16), Jordan Beard finished 10th overall (4th U16) not far behind in 17.11. Next Tuesday sees the Bunny Run Relays, leg 1 - 2.5miles, leg 2&3 - 2miles any combination of team. Photographs from the Bunny Runs and details of the relay can be found at www.woodentops.org.uk
English Fell Championships, Anniversary Waltz - 19.04.2008
Today was the first round of the FRA English Fell championships at Anniversary Waltz, Keswick. The U16/18 course had to be changed at the last minute due to the marshalls being unable to stand up in the fierce winds at the top and consequently didn't really suit our older athletes.

Mid Lancs T&F League, Wigan - 12.04.2008
The first meeting of the Mid Lancs League was held at Robin Park Arena, Wigan and there were new personal bests set. In the U13 girls Chloe Law had a good meeting finishing 26th in the long jump setting a new pb of 2.66, in the U13 boys Callum Davidson in his first season on the track tackled the 800m finishing 5th in his heat with a great time of 2.37.30. In the U15 boys Danny Walsh finished 5th in the 1500m with a good time of 5.13.60 followed by Pascal Dark in 8th with 5.22.10. In the U17 men's races Ashley Kay finished 2nd in the 800m with a time of 2.07.90, and 2nd U17 in the 3000m knocking 21 seconds off his personal best with 9.38.30, Joe Johnston finished in a great 3rd U17 in the same race with 10.24.60. Aaron Barker finished 2nd in his 800m heat a bit off his pb with a time of 2.03.00. In the senior women Cat Gallagher had a busy day finishing 6th in the 200m, 5th in the 400m and 6th in the 800m with a time 2.39.10.
Bunny Run Two - 08.04.2008
These are a series of 4 fast and furious 3 mile races on Penistone Hill, Haworth held on Tuesday evenings. Each athletes best 3 out of 4 races count towards prizes (usually lots of Easter eggs!!). These races are open to anyone over the age of 12 and the oldest competitor was 76 years old. Only one junior at this one, Ashley Kay represented Rossendale well, finishing 12th overall out of 272 runners and winning the U16 section with a time of 17.06. Pendle Fell Race - 05.04.2008 Full Results
A local fell race it was a shame not to see more juniors at this event, nevertheless we had some excellent results from the juniors who were there. Thomas Sumner finished 2nd in the U10 boys race, the fast improving Megan Solomon tackled a long 3.5km U12 course to win the girls section a full minute ahead of the 2nd place girl. The U14 boys raced over 4km and Elliott Whylie finished in a great 2nd having been directed the wrong way on the course, Pascal Dark finished 5th. The U16's course was to the top of Pendle Hill over 4.5km, Ashley Kay set a good pace but was followed yet again by Jonny Bradshaw from Wharfedale, the pair battled hard all the way but Ashley just edged in front to win and both of them finished nearly 2 minutes ahead of the next U16 runner. Luke Gregory also competed well in the same race to finish 7th.
Brenda Robinson 5K, Littleborough - 02.04.2008
Jordan Beard finished 3rd junior overall in a time of 17.38 followed by Joe Johnston 4th junior (18.05), Jack Stringfellow 8th (19.39). Emma Flanagan just returning from holiday achieved a new personal best to finish 1st junior lady in 19.37.
