England Selection for Susa, Italy

It has been confirmed that Emma Flanagan has been selected for the England team to race in Susa, Italy on 22 June 2008 after her great performance at the trial race at Shutlingsloe. Well done Emma!
Ashley Kay would no doubt have been selected after winning the U16 race but due to changes in the rules which states athletes must be 16 years old on the day of the race Ashley is too young to compete. This is a big dissapointment but there is always next year!!

FRA English Fell Championships, Wildboarclough - 26.05.08

The second round of the FRA fell championships were held at Wildboarclough near Macclesfield. In the U12 race Callum Davidson finished 3rd with Marcus Preedy in 6th, Rebecca Flanagan was first of the girls finishing in 3rd, Isabelle Lewis 9th and Chloe Law 10th.
Danny Walsh finished 4th in the U14 race after losing a few places in the river crossing, Elliott Whylie had a good run in 6th, and Pascal Dark continuing to improve finished 8th.
The U16 and U18's ran as one race with athletes born in 91 and 92 competing for England places for the upcoming Susa race in Italy. Ashley Kay finished 3rd overall (1st U16) and only 5 seconds behind the winner and nearly 30 seconds in front of the 4th place runner he should hopefully be selected for England, Jordan Beard finished 9th, Joe Johnston 13th and Luke Gregory 24th. Emma Flanagan finished 2nd U18 girl in the same race and will automatically be selected for England.

Sedbergh Gala, Bofra - 17.05.2008

Pascal Rebecca The first race in the BOFRA fell series was held at Sedbergh Gala. In the U17 race Ashley Kay built up a big lead but chose the wrong route up the hill and had to settle for 3rd place, Elliott Whylie in his first year as an U17 finished in a great 11th, and Emma Flanagan finished 2nd girl.
In the U14 race the winner turned too soon so Danny Walsh finished 3rd with the improving Pascal Dark in 4th. Rebecca Flanagan also had a good race to finish 3rd girl.
